...and then they were gone.

The holidays have come and gone and I finally have a moment to breathe.

Inhale...exhale. Phew.

Okay, so my crafty adventures have actually been more than the non-existant they may seem from the lack of posts. Everybody knows how busy this season can be. Add to that exams and essays and you get a holiday season that was unfortunately too busy to post about.

However, I have been diversifying in my lust for craftiness. I briefly mentioned that I taught myself to knit this past summer and I currently have a scarf on the go for the BF. It'll have to be a January present since I couldn't get it done in time for the holidays. In December I also made two different cards with with the Print Gocco I got for my birthday in September.

The best news though, is that I got a new camera! One with a macro function! Do you know how hard it's been trying to take pictures with a hulking 3 megapixel camera and no macro? Brutal! As soon as I can figure out how to work it properly I will be posting tonnes of pictures here and on flickr for everybody to see. No more will my brain have to explode every time I think about taking a picture to accompany a blog post.

I've also been purchasing a lot of supplies, to spread my crafty wings even further. I'm a very list-y person, so here's a list of all the neat stuff I've scored in the past 2-3 months. (And when I say A LOT I mean A LOT!)

-new (used) singer sewing machine from the 80s (Doesn't work yet. Needs a new bobbin and the metal plate that goes over the bobbin.)
-brand-new sewing machine (a holiday present for my sister and I to share.)
-new cotton printed fabrics
-new patterns (blouses, totes, and more!)
-lots of different beads from the
fall bead show.
-pretty inks to go with my Print Gocco
-card stock
-yarns
-lots of knitting books (
Stitch 'n' Bitch!)
-Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing (I think I'm gonna try out one of these patterns tomorrow).

So...though all has been quiet on the blogging front, I have not been without craft. In fact, my crafty horizions continue to expand, and that makes me happy. I'm hoping that the new year will see a return to a more normal posting schedule here on the blog. I'm gonna aim for 2-3 times a week. And now that I have my new camera, my blog-worthy picture taking will only be limited by my imagination :)

Good things are on the horizon, my friends. Good and crafty things.

On a quick side note, I recently discovered and am completely addicted to this blog. Reading it was what got me through those last few brain-melting weeks at work before the holidays. Her advent calendar and other holiday preparations really got me in the spirit of the season. Thank you, WiseCraft.

And if I don't get a chance to say it to you all before then, Happy New Year!
